Takes over for long-time office leader Noel Shepard

Yazan (Yaz) Ashrawi has been named the head of Frost Brown Todd’s (FBT’s) Columbus office. He began the new position on Jan. 1, 2023, and takes over for Noel Shepard who served as Partner-in-Charge for eight years. Ashrawi is a litigator who focuses on land use, zoning, development, and real estate issues. He also provides outside general counsel services. He joined FBT in 2013 as an Associate and was promoted to Partner after six years. Ashrawi already holds several leadership positions at the firm, including as a member of the recruiting committee, client experience team and innovation team.

“I am honored to take on the Partner-in-Charge role in Columbus,” said Ashrawi. “Noel has set an exemplary example of what it means to be an inclusive and inspiring leader. I look forward to building on the momentum she has created. Columbus is a vibrant, growing community, and our successful business community is key. It is exciting to be able to serve their needs in this new role.”

Celebrating 35 years in 2023, FBT’s Columbus office has grown from 25 attorneys to 50 attorneys since Shepard stepped in as Partner-in-Charge. It provides legal services to local and state governments, the real estate and manufacturing industries, and advises clients on labor and employment issues. In addition to a commitment to providing top-quality work, the office has a strong commitment to diversity. Over 40% of the office is diverse and it works closely with local high schools, law schools and other community and legal groups to promote diversity and inclusion.
