Frost Brown Todd (FBT) Louisville Member Gene Price retired from the U.S. Navy as a Rear Admiral on October 1 after 36 years of service. Once again a civilian, Price will re-focus his efforts on FBT’s privacy and data security legal practice full-time.

Price served as Commander of the Office of Naval Intelligence, Commander of Naval Information Forces Reserve, and Director of the National Maritime Intelligence-Integration Office. He was also Deputy Commander of Fleet Cyber Command/U.S. Tenth Fleet, where he supported U.S. Cyber Command, the National Security Agency, and U.S. global cyber interests.

“The need for companies to have a solid team dealing with potential data breaches and privacy issues continues to grow. I look forward to focusing full-time on bringing my cybersecurity insights to the needs of Frost Brown Todd’s clients,” said Price. “I am so grateful for my time serving our country and the experiences it afforded me. Now, it allows me to provide deep experience in cybersecurity, particularly assessments of threat intelligence, defensive tactics, and strategies.”

Price served in the war in Kosovo, Operation Iraqi Freedom in Kuwait and Iraq, and as a senior U.S. intelligence officer in Afghanistan. In addition, he served as the Navy’s senior representative at the 58th Presidential Inauguration in 2017. Price is a graduate of the University of Louisville Brandeis School of Law. He will continue to consult with the Department of Defense on an ad hoc basis.
